A bit of history: The Luton, Dunstable & District Netball League was started in 1956 and was originally founded by the local businesses. All teams that took part were named after the business they worked for ie Vauxhall, Kents, Electrolux etc. Most of the larger companies were represented by a netball squad.
Nowadays netball is the most popular women's sport in the UK and is played throughout the country.
